Nurse Practitioner (Family or Adult-Gerontology) - Caldwell, OH
We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) for a full-time opportunity providing primary care services within a correctional healthcare setting. Position Details
- Location: Caldwell, OH
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Flexible scheduling available (4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts)
- No evenings, weekends, or holidays
- Assignment Length: 3-6 months with potential for extension
- Pay: $65-$68/hour, based on experience
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to an adult female patient population
- Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
- Develop and manage treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing
- Prescribe medications as appropriate
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Qualifications
- Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license
- Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
- DEA registration
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care or hospital medicine

Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions among incarcerated populations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications in accordance with DEA regulations.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, and wound care, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques.
- Manage acute pain and chronic disease conditions, including infectious diseases, geriatrics, behavioral health issues, and trauma cases.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, correctional staff, and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of medical records and treatment plans.
- Provide telehealth consultations when appropriate to extend care services beyond the facility.
- Conduct health screenings, triage urgent cases, and facilitate referrals for specialized care or hospitalization.
- Participate in discharge planning, case management, and health education initiatives tailored to the correctional population.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
