Locums - Boston, Massachusetts NP/PA Neurosurgery Opportunity
Clinical Role
RecruitWell is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locums Neurosurgery opportunity in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a pediatric inpatient role focused entirely on patient care, rounding, orders, and discharge management. APPs do not participate in the operating room, as the resident program provides surgical assistance.
Assignment Details
Schedule: 3 shifts per week
Shift hours: 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM
13-hour shifts
No nights
No holidays
Full-time availability preferred
Will consider candidates available a minimum of 2 weeks per month

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Begin each day rounding with Neurosurgery residents
Review the care plan for assigned patients
Enter and review patient orders
Evaluate patients who require APP assessment
Manage ongoing inpatient care needs
Assist with discharge planning and discharge orders
Collaborate closely with the resident team
APPs do not participate in operative cases

Requirements
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Board Certification required
Active Massachusetts license required
Minimum 1 year of Neurosurgery experience required
Pediatric Neurosurgery experience preferred
Organization is not willing to license

APPs work closely with residents and the Neurosurgery team
Resident program supports operative responsibilities
APP role is focused on inpatient clinical management rather than surgery
