We are a well-established nephrology practice serving patients throughout Citrus County and the surrounding communities, and we are seeking a dedicated Adult Nurse Practitioner to join our growing clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP who is looking to build a rewarding, long-term career in nephrology while working closely with experienced nephrologists, physicians, and a dedicated healthcare team. The position offers a diverse clinical experience, including outpatient chronic kidney disease and post-AKI care, hypertension and kidney stone management, dialysis care, and hospital-based nephrology consultations. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care, developing strong relationships with patients, and working collaboratively with physicians and referring providers to optimize each patient's care and long-term kidney health.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nephrology care: Obtain detailed medical histories, perform physical examinations, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans for CKD, post-AKI, hypertension, kidney stones, and other renal conditions.
- Provide inpatient and dialysis care: Perform timely hospital nephrology consultations, evaluate urgent renal conditions, and provide care to patients at in-center and home dialysis clinics, including patients who may require hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams: Work closely with the nephrologist, referring physicians, dialysis teams, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, discuss treatment plans, and facilitate appropriate referrals.
- Support efficient clinical operations: Maintain accurate EMR documentation, complete billing and clinical responsibilities promptly, provide patient education, and be willing to provide coverage at satellite clinic locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Education & Credentials: Current Florida APRN/NP license and appropriate national certification; graduate-level nurse practitioner education required.
- Clinical Experience: Previous NP experience preferred; nephrology, dialysis, internal medicine, hospital medicine, or other adult medicine experience is highly valued.
- Clinical & Communication Skills: Strong assessment, diagnostic, and critical-thinking abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build trust with patients.
- Professional Qualities: Collaborative, dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
