A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Full-Time, On-Site, Night Shift, Hospital Pharmacy Technician in Morristown, NJ! (THIS ROLE IS 7 DAYS ON 7 DAYS OFF. PAY IS $24/HR.)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations on an overnight schedule. This position is responsible for assisting pharmacists with medication preparation, distribution, sterile compounding, inventory management, automated dispensing systems, and other pharmacy operations.

This position follows a 7-on/7-off overnight schedule. The technician will work seven consecutive overnight shifts from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM, beginning on Thursday, followed by seven consecutive days off.

Candidates must have previous experience working within a hospital pharmacy setting. Experience within an oncology or infusion center environment is highly preferred.

Hospital Pharmacy Technician Compensation

• The pay for this position is $24/hr
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Hospital Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, fill, and distribute medication orders for pharmacist review, including oral medications, IV medications, and extemporaneous preparations.
• Perform sterile compounding and IV preparation using proper aseptic technique, including TPN and hazardous medication handling.
• Stock and replenish medication carts, bins, trays, kits, and automated dispensing machines, resolving stock-outs and discrepancies as needed.
• Deliver medications throughout the hospital via pneumatic tube, hand delivery, or courier and collect medication returns from nursing units.
• Monitor medication inventory, expiration dates, recalls, returns, and discontinued medications while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Repackage, barcode, and label medications according to established pharmacy procedures.
• Process pharmacy requests received by phone, computer, fax, or pharmacy window in a timely and professional manner.
• Work closely with pharmacists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to maintain efficient medication distribution and pharmacy workflow.
• Follow all hospital pharmacy safety, documentation, controlled medication, and hazardous drug-handling procedures.
• Provide professional customer service, assist team members as needed, and participate in departmental quality and performance improvement initiatives.

Hospital Pharmacy Technician Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting is required.
• Current active registration with the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Ability to work the full 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7-on/7-off overnight schedule.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow pharmacy procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Previous oncology and/or infusion center experience preferred.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification preferred.
• Previous experience with sterile compounding, IV preparation, automated dispensing systems, and hospital medication distribution strongly preferred.
