Position Overview

Ensign Physical Therapy is seeking a passionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Henderson, Nevada. Work Environment

The PTA will primarily work in a hospital environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The role is defined by a dynamic and interactive setting where teamwork and communication are essential. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to meet patient needs and optimize clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer direct physical therapy services based on the physical therapist's treatment plan, assisting patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
  • Utilize various therapeutic modalities, such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation, to enhance patient recovery and alleviate pain.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, demonstrating proper techniques for functional training, gait, and muscle reeducation.
  • Monitor patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records, documenting treatments, reactions, and changes to present to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Instruct patients on the correct use of assistive devices, including wheelchairs, canes, crutches, and orthotic or prosthetic equipment.
  • Collaborate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to our in-service education programs, facilitating a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Engage in quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives to enhance overall patient care services.
  • Complete other administrative or clinical tasks as assigned by the supervising physical therapist.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients, including those recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. By employing evidence-based practices and a patient-centered approach, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals at different stages of their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or an Associate's Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • A current and valid license or certification in physical therapy assisting as mandated by Nevada state law.
  • Current certification in CPR/First Aid, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation that meets organizational and state requirements.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of hands-on experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting, with a proven track record of successful patient outcomes.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to maintain patient documentation efficiently.
