Gastroenterology Physician

CHI St. Luke s Health Memorial Lufkin in East Texas is seeking a Gastroenterologist with ERCP capability for a high-impact inpatient-only locum assignment. This is a true hospital-based role: no clinic, no outpatient, just comprehensive GI consults, rounds, and procedures driven from in-house and ER consults.

• Inpatient only

• Hospitalist service handles admissions

• Typical caseload: Up to 10 inpatients/day + procedures

• Case types: GI bleeds, abdominal pain, SBO, food bolus, ulcers, gastritis, carcinoma diagnosis (no treatment)

• Standard GI procedures (EGD, colonoscopy)

• ERCP Required

• EUS Not required

• Conscious sedation preferred; anesthesia backup available

• Supported by GI-trained endoscopy nursing staff

• Currently Paragon

• Transitioning to Epic later in 2026
