Qualifications- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of ACGME-accredited general surgery residency
- Board certified or board eligible in general surgery
- Fellowship training in surgical critical care preferred for the intensivist position
- Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure
- Three or more years of experience preferred; outstanding early-career candidates considered
- Leadership candidates should have demonstrated trauma or acute care surgery leadership experience

Position Details- Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Acute Care Surgeon to join the practice.
- Busy community teaching hospital and designated Level III Trauma Center, pursuing Level II verification in 2028
- Two openings: Acute Care Surgeon/Surgical Intensivist, and a Trauma Program leadership role
- Scope: trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care
- Trauma program evaluated more than 2,600 trauma patients and admitted over 1,300 in 2025
- Team of seven full-time acute care and trauma surgeons, seven full-time trauma APPs, and more than 25 surgical and critical care APPs
- Collaborative multidisciplinary trauma and critical care teams
- Growing robotic emergency general surgery program
- Twelve-hour shifts with protected non-clinical time

- Provide trauma, emergency general surgery, and critical care services
- Develop an elective surgery practice based on individual interests
