Locums Hematology/Oncology Lafayette, IN (No License Required to Bid) Why This RoleSupport a primarily outpatient oncology practice with a manageable hematology mix, dedicated administrative time, and NP support for existing hospital patients. - Monday ÄìFriday, 8:00 a.m. Äì5:00 p.m.
- Nine-hour shifts, including:
- 36 patient-care hours per week - 30 minutes of administrative time daily - One-hour lunch- Approximately 15 Äì18 patients per shift
- Outpatient, inpatient consultative, and telehealth settings
- Patient mix: Approximately 70% oncology and 30% hematology
- Hematology cases are primarily benign
- Cerner EMR
- APP supervision required
- No teaching responsibilities
- No admissions; physician serves entirely as a consultant

Call Coverage- Beeper call every fourth or fifth week
- Call is assigned in one-week blocks
- 30-minute response time
- Weekday hospital visits for new consultations
- Weekend rounding and emergent consultations as needed
- Approximately 5 Äì6 phone consultations per week
- Approximately 2 Äì3 patients seen during call coverage
- Nurse practitioners round on existing hospital patients
- Approximately 10% call-back rate
Requirements- Board-certified or board-eligible in Oncology or Hematology/Oncology
- Fellowship-trained
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to cover at least 90% of the listed schedule
- Ability to provide three to four professional references
- Hospital privileges required
- Active DEA required before starting
- Indiana medical license required before starting; candidates already licensed in Indiana are preferred
- Clean professional history strongly preferred, including:
- No paid or pending malpractice claims - No NPDB actions - Professional time gaps under six months
