Maternal - Fetal Medicine Physician

Locums - Hershey, Pennsylvania, Maternal and Fetal Medicine Job

Start Date: ASAP

Job Duration: 6 months

Scope of Practice:

• Outpatient MFM consultations

• Obstetrical ultrasound services

• Inpatient MFM coverage, including:

  • Antepartum/postpartum rounding

  • MFM consultations

  • Cerclages

  • Some deliveries

• Supervision of MFM APPs, fellows, and residents

Schedule & Coverage:

• Weekday outpatient: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

  • 30-minute lunch break

• Weekday inpatient: 6:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

• Home night call required

• Labor & Delivery backup call required

• Weekend inpatient coverage:

  • Friday 5:30 p.m.-Saturday 7:00 a.m.: MFM beeper call/backup

  • Saturday: Inpatient rounds, duration as needed

  • Sunday 7:00 a.m.-Monday 7:00 a.m.: MFM beeper call/backup

• Lunch: 30-minute break; provider must sign out and sign back in

Call:

• Call type: Beeper

• Call ratio: 1:6

• Call response time required: 5 minutes

• Assigned and unassigned patients

• Average call activity per 24 hours:

  • Phone consults: 1-5

  • Patients seen: 6

  • Admissions: Yes

Patient Volume:

• 8-15 patients per shift

Practice Setting:

• Trauma Level I

• Pediatric Trauma Level I

• Hospital stroke certified

• EMR: Cerner

Support Staff:

• RN/MAs: Varies

• 1 PA/NP

• 1 office staff

• Provider required to supervise APPs

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine

• Fellowship required

• Active Pennsylvania license required
