Psychiatry Physician

Savannah, GA

• Board Certification Required
• 10-hour day shifts with night call
• 7-on/7-off rotation
• Call: Monday, Wednesday, Friday + weekends
• EPIC EMR
• Adult population with occasional geriatric patients
• Support staff includes nurses, techs, and social workers

Practice Details:

• 26-bed behavioral health unit
• Current census: 29 patients
• Average daily patient volume: 20
• Rounding on approximately 13 patients/day
• 1-3 admissions and 1-3 discharges daily
• 4-5 consults per day (8-9 including follow-up visits)
• Coverage includes unit, emergency department, and other floors
• Histories & Physicals required

Team Structure:

• 2 Psychiatrists (including Medical Director)
• 2 Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners on a 7-on/7-off schedule

Additional Details:

• Need due to site coverage shortage
• Consult calls are typically handled by phone, with onsite response only for rare emergencies
• Orientation can be scheduled on the start date
• Credentialing varies and may take up to 90 days (provider paperwork completion expected within 30 days)
