Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour call coverage, with scheduled shifts from Monday 7 a.m. to Friday 7 p.m.
- Perform endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, with expertise and precision
- Collaborate with hospitalist support and community colorectal surgeons
- Participate in outpatient clinics at a location less than half a mile from the hospital
- Ensure patient care quality and adherence to hospital protocols during assigned shifts
Required Skills:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Valid state Medical License and Board Certification in Gastroenterology
- Proven experience in performing ERCP procedures
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous locum or temporary position experience
- Familiarity with hospital electronic medical records systems
- Bilingual abilities or multilingual skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in gastroenterology
- Prior experience working in hospital-based settings
- Active Michigan medical license or eligibility for licensure
Other Requirements:
- On-call coverage from Monday 7 a.m. to Friday 7 p.m., with no weekend call obligations
- Ability to travel to and from the healthcare facility as scheduled
- Coverage of malpractice insurance, orientation, and daily shifts; rates including malpractice to be submitted
- Must comply with travel and expense reimbursement policies; lodging must be booked directly, avoiding third-party booking sites
- Participation in orientation and training sessions as required
