Job description

A hospital in Springfield, OR is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a Locum Tenens role focusing on endoscopic procedures and patient care. This position primarily involves inpatient care with an emphasis on performing ERCPs, rounding, and new consults. The role offers a supportive environment with access to specialty consultants and a dedicated inpatient Gastro PA to assist during weekdays. Call coverage is included, providing a comprehensive service opportunity for a skilled physician ready to start as soon as possible.

- Schedule: Daily rate includes 12 hours of clinic/rounding plus night call

Job Responsibilities- Perform endoscopic procedures with a particular focus on ERCPs
- Conduct inpatient rounds and manage new consults
- Collaborate with specialty consultants and outpatient GI colleagues for comprehensive patient care
- Utilize clinical documentation practices to accurately record patient encounters

Qualifications- Board-certified/eligible in Gastroenterology
- Strong preference for experience with ERCP procedures
- Required certifications: ACLS
- Experience with EPIC EMR is beneficial
- Provision of documentation of relevant clinical activity in the last 24 months

Working Hours- Schedule includes day shifts as well as a call for comprehensive care coverage
- Weekend 24-hour call includes 4 hours of gratis work (if applicable)

Skills- Expertise in performing complex gastroenterology procedures, especially ERCP
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with healthcare team members
- Proficient in using electronic medical records and ability to maintain detailed documentation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently with confidence in an inpatient setting
