Gastroenterologist

Assignment Details

  • Location: Jackson, Michigan

  • Provider Type: Physician (MD/DO)

  • Specialty: Gastroenterology

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient / Hospital-Based

  • Coverage Type: 24-Hour Call

  • Target Start Date: January 2027

  • Expected Duration: Minimum of 6 Months, With Potential for Extension

  • Coverage Need: 1 Week Per Month

  • EMR: Epic



Compensation

  • 24-Hour On Call: $2,460 per 24 Hours

  • Call Back: $460/hour



Schedule

  • Minimum Commitment: 1 Week Per Month for at Least 6 Months

  • Coverage Block: Saturday 7:00 AM Through the Following Saturday at 6:59 AM

  • In-House Coverage: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM

  • Overnight Coverage: Pager / Beeper Call

  • Call Ratio: 1:4

  • Average Callback: Approximately 2 Hours Per Week



Patient Population / Volume

  • Adult and Geriatric Patients

  • 100% Inpatient

  • Approximately 8 Follow-Up Patients Per Day

  • Approximately 6-8 New Consults Per Day



Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide Inpatient Gastroenterology Coverage

  • Evaluate and Manage New Gastroenterology Consults

  • Provide Follow-Up Care for Hospitalized Gastroenterology Patients

  • Perform Hospital-Based Gastroenterology Procedures

  • Perform Colonoscopy

  • Perform EGD

  • Ability to Perform ERCP and Advanced GI Procedures Required at Submission



Clinical Environment / Support

  • Level II Trauma Center

  • Inpatient Hospital-Based Practice

  • No Leadership or Teaching Responsibilities

  • Epic EMR



Requirements

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology - Required

  • At Least 2 Years of Clinical Experience in Gastroenterology - Required

  • Gastroenterology Fellowship Training - Required

  • Active Michigan Medical License at Time of Name Clearance - Required

  • ACLS Through AHA - Required

  • BLS Through AHA - Required

  • Ability to Perform Outpatient and Hospital-Based GI Procedures, Including Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and Advanced GI Procedures - Required

  • Clean Background - Required, No Exceptions

  • No Malpractice or License Issues - Required

  • Epic Experience - Preferred



Credentialing

  • Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90-120 Days

  • Temporary Privileges Not Available
