We are seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to join a well-established hospital-based IR team providing a broad range of vascular and non-vascular procedures in a high-acuity setting.

This opportunity offers a consistent Monday Friday day schedule, strong APP support, shared 1:3 call coverage, and an average of 8 cases per day. Ideal candidates will be comfortable performing angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, thrombolysis, biopsies, and UFE procedures while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Coverage Type: Locum Tenens
Practice Setting: Hospital-Based
Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 5:00 PM

Call Schedule
  • Q3 weekday call (every third weekday)
  • Q3 weekend call (every third weekend)
  • Call ratio: 1:3 among Interventional Radiologists
Clinical Volume
  • Average of 8 cases per day
  • Primarily adult patient population, including a significant geriatric population
  • Level I Trauma Center environment
Procedures Required

The ideal candidate must be comfortable performing a broad range of Interventional Radiology procedures, including:

  • Angioplasty
  • Stent placement
  • Embolization
  • Needle biopsy
  • Thrombolysis
  • Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)
Preferred Experience

Additional experience with the following is highly desirable:

  • Orthopedic interventions
  • Gynecologic procedures
  • Urologic procedures
Team & Support

The Interventional Radiology department includes:

  • 3 Interventional Radiologists
  • 2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • Dedicated department manager and support staff
Requirements Mandatory Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Interventional Radiology
  • Active Michigan Medical License (required at presentation)
    • IMLC/Compact licenses are not accepted
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • NPDB Self-Query dated within the last 30 days
Highly Preferred
  • Clean malpractice history
  • Clean licensure history
Provider Preference
  • Local providers are preferred due to mileage-only reimbursement.
  • Travel providers may be considered if they can provide at least two to three weeks of coverage per month.
