A nationally recognized, state-of-the-art children's hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to support their Pediatric Hospital Medicine team. Offering predictable daytime hours, manageable volumes, and a highly collaborative clinical environment, this role is designed to cover an upcoming leave of absence and departmental vacancies.

The Opportunity

Step into a dedicated pediatric inpatient unit, working alongside top-tier specialists to deliver comprehensive, family-centered medical care.

  • Clinical Scope: Provide dedicated inpatient pediatric care. Primary responsibilities include leading daily patient rounds, ordering and evaluating diagnostics, formulating acute treatment plans, supporting the attending physicians, and maintaining excellent, reassuring communication with families.

  • Procedural Requirements: Candidates must possess strong technical skills and clinical comfort in performing standard pediatric hospitalist procedures, including:

    • Blood draws and arterial sticks

    • Lumbar punctures

    • Nasogastric (NG) tube insertions

  • Patient Volume: Benefit from a highly manageable and safe clinical workload of 6 to 10 patients per day, ensuring you can deliver attentive, high-quality care to every child.

  • The Schedule: Enjoy a highly desirable shift structure with absolutely no on-call responsibilities.

    • Commitment: 3 shifts per week (36 hours total).

    • Hours: Day shifts only, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

    • Rotation: Includes a standard rotation of weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

  • Team Dynamics: Practice within an integrated, multi-provider model. You will collaborate daily with fellow pediatric APPs and attending physicians. While you will work closely with other team members, you hold no administrative or supervisory responsibility over other APPs.

  • Technology: Fully streamlined workflows utilizing a single-platform Epic EMR system covering the entire hospital ecosystem.

Location: New Brunswick, NJ

Compensation & Shift Logistics
  • Contract Structure: Fixed hourly compensation with robust, built-in daily and weekly overtime protections (overtime rates apply after 12 consecutive hours in a single daily shift).

  • Assignment Timeline: Initial 3-month contract running from July 6, 2026, through October 6, 2026, with a strong possibility of extension based on vacancy needs.

  • Interviewing Process: Interviews are being fast-tracked directly with a panel consisting of the Lead APP, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Nursing, and the Medical Director of Hospital Medicine.
