Become the First Physician Leader of a Thriving 50-Year Cancer Program
Lead It Keep Your Clinical Practice
The Opportunity
For more than 50 years, this cancer program has cared for patients across the region. It has experienced physicians, established infrastructure, strong clinical partnerships and continued investment behind it.
What it has never had is one physician leader bringing the oncology disciplines together.
That is your opportunity to fulfill that role. This is not a turnaround. It is a build-and-integrate leadership role within an already stable oncology platform.
You can maintain an active clinical practice while helping create a more unified approach across medical, radiation and surgical oncology. With executive sponsorship and the resources of a financially strong health system, you will help shape the program s next stage of growth in multidisciplinary care, clinical research, physician recruitment and regional access.
Why This Role Is Different
- Be the first central physician leader across the oncology disciplines , with the opportunity to help define both the role and the future direction of the program.
- Remain clinically active. This is leadership without stepping away from patient care.
- Join an established group of approximately 11 hematology/oncology physicians and 5 APPs , with historically low physician turnover.
- Help support continued growth, including the ongoing recruitment of approximately five additional oncologists .
- Build on substantial existing infrastructure, including approximately 40 infusion treatment spaces .
- Work with established multidisciplinary tumor boards in breast, lung, gastrointestinal and general oncology .
- Collaborate across radiation oncology, surgical oncology, gynecologic oncology, breast surgery, palliative care and pulmonary medicine .
- Help expand clinical research and clinical trial access across a growing regional health system.
- Work with senior leadership that has committed resources and executive support to the continued development of the cancer program.
Life in Tulsa
Tulsa offers the amenities of a metropolitan area of more than one million people without the congestion and cost associated with many larger markets. Physicians can choose from established city neighborhoods, newer suburban communities and larger properties while still enjoying relatively short commutes.
Outside the hospital, Tulsa offers nationally recognized parks and river trails, museums, performing arts, live music, major concerts, an increasingly strong restaurant scene and destinations such as Gathering Place .
Its diversified economy across healthcare, energy, aerospace, finance, manufacturing and technology also creates meaningful professional opportunities for spouses and partners.
Is This the Right Fit?
This opportunity is designed for an experienced medical, surgical or gynecologic oncologist who has helped build something and is ready for broader influence.
You do not need to already hold the title of Cancer Center Director.
You should, however, be someone who can bring physicians and disciplines together, lead through influence, earn the confidence of colleagues and help an established program determine what its next decade should look like.
Most importantly, this role is for a physician who still wants to practice medicine .
You are stepping into leadership without stepping away from patients.
