Assignment Details- Start/end: As soon as credentialed; ongoing
- Schedule: 8am-5pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch
- Coverage type: Scheduled endoscopy; no call
- Volume: Upper endoscopy 30 min; colonoscopy 30 min; combined procedures 60 min
- Setting: Outpatient Gastroenterology/endoscopy
- Support: Most cases use physician/nurse-administered moderate sedation; occasional anesthesiology support
- EMR: Epic
- Credentialing: 60-90 days; no temporary privileges
Clinical Details- Required scope: Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal and control of bleeding
- Required scope: Lower GI endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy
- Required scope: Colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy
- Required scope: Small bowel biopsy
- Must be comfortable administering moderate sedation without routine anesthesiology support
- Preferred: Esophageal dilation/manometry, manometry interpretation and rigid sigmoidoscopy
- ERCP and EUS not required
Requirements- Gastroenterology board certification required; minimum board status to be confirmed
- Gastroenterology fellowship training
- License: MD or IMLC
- ACLS and BLS
- Active DEA
Compensation- Rate negotiable, open to your number
- Malpractice provided
