Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track.
- Supervise Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment.
- Provide real-time clinical teaching in primary care, population health, value-based care, and health equity-focused practice.
- Teach residents to integrate social determinants of health, community-engaged care approaches, and equity-centered clinical decision-making.
- Participate in journal clubs, lecture series, case conferences, and resident workshops.
- Mentor residents in quality improvement initiatives and health equity research.
- Deliver comprehensive Internal Medicine care within the clinic using evidence-based guidelines.
- Help establish and refine value-based standard practices for the clinic.
- Identify and address non-medical drivers of health impacting patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare disparities.
Qualifications:
- Completion of ACGME or AMA approved residency - REQUIRED.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in the appropriate specialty - REQUIRED.
- Texas Medical License (or willingness to obtain) - REQUIRED.
- At least one professional reference within the past 24 months - REQUIRED.
- No visa sponsorship available - REQUIRED.
- Clean malpractice and license history - HIGHLY PREFERRED.
- Experience in medical education, health equity, population health, or value-based care - HIGHLY PREFERRED.
- Interest in resident education and academic medicine - REQUIRED.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary care environment - REQUIRED.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Texas Medical License (or willingness to obtain).
- Board Certification in the relevant specialty.
