Practice Overview
- You'll join a well-established outpatient pediatrics clinic within a respected not-for-profit FQHC serving an 11-county region
- Team support includes a dedicated RN per physician, additional float/triage nurses, onsite behavioral health, and lactation support (NP and dietician)
- Clinical scope spans newborn to age 18: well visits, immunizations, acute care, chronic disease follow-up, ADHD/behavioral concerns, asthma/allergies, adolescent health
- Inpatient newborn responsibilities include attendance for C-sections/high-risk deliveries plus admissions/discharges (hospital averages 500 births/year); specialty referrals go to a children's hospital in Columbia
Schedule
- Monday-Friday, 8:00a-4:30p with a 4-day clinic schedule plus 1 full admin day
- Typical patient flow: first patient at 8:30a; last patient around 4:15-4:30p
- Visit templates support efficiency: 15 minutes for follow-ups/sick visits; 30 minutes for new patients/well visits; average 20-30 patients/day
- Call is currently 1:3 with RN first-triage; efforts underway to reduce toward 1:4 with supplemental coverage
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary guarantee: $240,000 (guaranteed for the duration of the contract)
- Quarterly production bonus once above 60% MGMA (commonly $10K-$20K per quarter)
- Sign-on and relocation assistance may be negotiated for the right fit
- Malpractice coverage, CME allowance of $3,500, and eligibility for PSLF and NHSC loan repayment programs
Candidate Requirements
- MD/DO required; Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics
- New graduates and experienced pediatricians both welcomed
- Comfort with rural full-scope pediatrics, including newborn rounding and delivery attendance expectations
- Visa sponsorship considered for candidates interested in long-term practice in the community
