JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Greenwood, Mississippi Coverage Period: Aug 01, 2026 Ongoing Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board certification in ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, AOBEM, AOBFM, or AOBIM accepted; APBS/ABPS not accepted Licenses: Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license; Active DEA registration with Mississippi address DEA / CDS: Active DEA with Schedules II, IIN, III, IIIN, IV, and V required Certifications: ACLS (AHA only), ATLS, PALS; BLS required unless EM boarded Experience: Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in Emergency Medicine; residency training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine required Other Qualifications: Case logs and CME/CEU documentation for the past 2 years; immunization requirements (COVID, Flu, Varicella, MMR, Tdap, Hepatitis B, TB testing) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medicine coverage for the ED at UMMC Greenwood Leflore Manage acute medical conditions and trauma cases in accordance with department protocols Perform required procedures and interventions as needed Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to all regulatory, credentialing, and compliance requirements
