Join an established Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery service in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, providing temporary surgical coverage while the facility recruits another permanent surgeon.

The provider will round on patients, take in-house call, and perform Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery procedures as needed. The facility is seeking multiple days of coverage per month, with the opportunity to continue until another surgeon is recruited.

Schedule:

• In-house call
• Rounding responsibilities
• Surgical responsibilities as needed
• Multiple days per month
• Coverage continues until another surgeon is recruited

• Provide Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery coverage
• Round on inpatient patients
• Evaluate and manage surgical patients
• Perform Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery procedures as needed
• Respond to inpatient surgical needs
• Manage assigned and unassigned patients
• Admit patients as required
• Coordinate care with the hospital and surgical teams
• Respond to urgent patient needs within the required timeframe
• Document patient care using EPIC

The provider will work with the established hospital and surgical teams. The facility will accept multiple providers to help cover the ongoing need while recruiting another permanent Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeon.

• Board Certified - Required
• Active Missouri License - Required
• ACLS - Required
• ATLS - Required
• BLS - Required
• Ability to provide in-house call
• Ability to perform Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery procedures as needed
• Ability to round on inpatient surgical patients
• Ability to manage admissions
• Ability to respond within 20 minutes while on call

Credentialing

An active Missouri medical license is required.

Board Certification is required.
