Division Head, Hematology/Oncology & Associate Medical Director, Cancer Service Line - Detroit, MichiganA nationally recognized academic health system is seeking an accomplished Division Head of Hematology/Oncology & Associate Medical Director, Cancer Service Line to provide executive leadership for a large, multidisciplinary cancer program. This physician leader will oversee strategic growth, clinical excellence, academic advancement, and research innovation while helping shape the future of cancer care across a multi-hospital integrated health system.This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced academic hematologist/oncologist with a proven record of leadership, faculty development, research, and operational success to make a lasting impact on a comprehensive cancer program.Work Allocation

  • Schedule
  • Leadership and administrative responsibilities with approximately 25% clinical practice.
  • Optional call coverage as needed.
  • Optional weekend responsibilities for physicians participating in call coverage.
  • Position Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership and operational oversight for the Hematology/Oncology Division.
  • Serve as Associate Medical Director for the Cancer Service Line, helping guide system-wide oncology strategy.
  • Lead and mentor a division of more than 40 academic hematology/oncology physicians.
  • Oversee clinical operations, academic initiatives, and research programs across the cancer service line.
  • Support the continued growth and integration of oncology services across multiple hospitals and outpatient locations.
  • Provide leadership for Bone Marrow Transplant, infusion services, and comprehensive oncology programs.
  • Collaborate with department and institutional leadership to advance strategic initiatives and improve quality of care.
  • Expand investigator-initiated clinical trials, precision medicine programs, and population health initiatives.
  • Mentor faculty, support career development, and promote multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Advance graduate medical education and Hematology/Oncology fellowship training programs.
  • Develop innovative models for inpatient and outpatient oncology care delivery.
  • Maintain an active clinical practice while balancing leadership, research, and academic responsibilities.
  • Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Hematology.
  • Board Certified in Medical Oncology.
  • Completion of an accredited Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
  • Eligible for or able to obtain a Michigan medical license.
  • Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (dated within last 30 days)
  • Current DEA, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Experienced physician with progressive leadership experience in an academic medical center or large integrated health system.
  • Demonstrated success leading faculty, clinical programs, research initiatives, and operational strategy.
  • H-1B visa sponsorship available.
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $500,000-$550,000, based on experience and training.
