Job description

Orthopedic Physician Assistant Outpatient

Location: Bronx, New York

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Direct Hire)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive orthopedic evaluations, physical exams, and post-operative follow-up visits for adult and pediatric patients.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions (e.g., fractures, joint osteoarthritis, sports injuries, tendinopathies).
  • Perform routine in-office procedures, including joint aspirations/injections (corticosteroids, viscosupplementation), fracture reduction, splinting, and casting.
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic imaging (X-rays, CTs, MRIs) and electrodiagnostic reports.
  • Formulate evidence-based treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate physical therapy/rehabilitation care.
  • Collaborate closely with attending Orthopedic Surgeons, physical therapists, and surgical support staff.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) Program.
  • Active, unencumbered New York State Physician Assistant License.
  • NCCPA Certification (PA-C).
  • Active New York DEA registration and Prescriptive Authority.
  • Prior clinical experience or elective rotation exposure in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine, or Urgent Care is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are a strong plus in this community.
