Orthopedic Physician Assistant Outpatient
Location: Bronx, New York
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Direct Hire)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive orthopedic evaluations, physical exams, and post-operative follow-up visits for adult and pediatric patients.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions (e.g., fractures, joint osteoarthritis, sports injuries, tendinopathies).
- Perform routine in-office procedures, including joint aspirations/injections (corticosteroids, viscosupplementation), fracture reduction, splinting, and casting.
- Order, interpret, and review diagnostic imaging (X-rays, CTs, MRIs) and electrodiagnostic reports.
- Formulate evidence-based treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate physical therapy/rehabilitation care.
- Collaborate closely with attending Orthopedic Surgeons, physical therapists, and surgical support staff.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) Program.
- Active, unencumbered New York State Physician Assistant License.
- NCCPA Certification (PA-C).
- Active New York DEA registration and Prescriptive Authority.
- Prior clinical experience or elective rotation exposure in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine, or Urgent Care is highly preferred.
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are a strong plus in this community.
