Board-Certified Psychiatrist Locum Tenens Dallas, TX
OnCall Solutions is partnering with an acute care hospital in Dallas, TX seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for overnight locum tenens coverage.
Position Highlights
• 12-hour overnight shifts
• 7p 7a
• Any 2 days Tuesday Saturday per week
• No call requirement
• Onsite provider coverage
• Adult patient population
• Local providers prioritized
• Board Certification required
Clinical Setting
The position supports psychiatric emergency services as well as psychiatric consultation in the medical emergency department.
There are two psychiatric emergency units and a psychiatric ER consultation team. Providers assigned to the psychiatric ER units manage a maximum of approximately 10 patients per shift. Providers assigned to the consult team see approximately 5 6 patients during a 12-hour shift.
Responsibilities
• Initial and follow-up psychiatric evaluations
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Communicate recommendations to consulting teams
• Place orders as indicated
• Coordinate physician-to-physician transfers
• Consult with other services when needed
• Complete involuntary psychiatric hospitalization paperwork
• Complete physician-only tasks for APPs
• Restraint orders and required face-to-face evaluations
• Admit patients to psychiatric observation as appropriate
Requirements
• Board Certification required
• Active Texas medical license
• Comfortable providing onsite overnight psychiatric coverage
• Local providers will receive priority consideration
