Primary Care Physician (IM/FM) Locums Opportunity
Location: New Jersey State Prison Trenton, NJ
Start Date: April 20, 2026
Duration: 26 weeks (ongoing)
Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM (No alternative schedules available)
Position Highlights
- Full-time schedule (5x8s only)
- Adult patient population
- Estimated 8 15 patients per day
- EMR: Centricity
- 10-day offer turnaround after submission
- Rotational on-call responsibilities
Scope of Work
- Routine primary care services including sick call, physicals, and chronic care management
- Diagnostic assessments and screenings
- Minor procedures such as:
- Suturing
- Incision & drainage
- Joint injections
- Patient education on health conditions and treatment plans
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Active New Jersey medical license (required at time of submission)
- Board Certification (ABIM or ABFM)
- DEA and BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience preferred (or 1+ year in correctional medicine)
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
