Title: Physician
Location: San Rafael, CA 94901
Duration: 3 months to Long Term.
Shift: General Shift Hours (Flexible).
Job Roles & Responsibilities:• Provide clinical oversight and medical direction for all on-site occupational health services delivered at the District's clinic.
• Perform and sign off on DOT (Department of Transportation) physical examinations for commercial bus and ferry drivers.
• Conduct respiratory clearance examinations and approve respirator fit-testing compliance for employees exposed to hazardous materials (bridge painters, maintenance staff).
• Oversee and direct workers' compensation injury care, including reviewing complex cases and determining return-to-work clearance.
• Supervise and clinically review the work of Physician Assistants (Client), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Registered Nurses (RNs) providing patient care.
• Develop and approve clinical protocols, standing orders, and treatment guidelines for the on-site clinic.
• Review and clear employees for medical surveillance programs (HAZWOPER, Bloodborne Pathogen exposure, Hearing Conservation).
• Provide expert review for ergonomic evaluations and physical ability testing to ensure employees are fit for duty.
• Act as the primary clinical liaison with the District's administration on matters of medical policy and compliance.
Mandatory Requirements:• Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) in the State of California.
• Current FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) National Registry Certification to perform DOT physical examinations.
• Current CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
