- EMR: Cerner, with transition to Epic anticipated
- Call: Yes, including 24-hour in-house call
Job Requirements
- Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) required
- Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC required
- Fetal monitoring experience required
- Willingness to work Monday through Friday at a minimum
- Ability to provide some weekend coverage
- At least 1 year of OB/GYN physician experience required
- Strong comfort with hospital-based obstetric and gynecologic call coverage
- Ability to provide two professional references at presentation
- Clean malpractice and background history preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide in-house OB/GYN call coverage for weekday and weekend shifts
- Triaging and delivering OB patients
- Covering OB/GYN emergency department calls
- Rounding on patients while on service
- Supporting low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
- Interpreting fetal heart monitoring, NST/CST/FSE, and managing screening ultrasounds
- Performing labor and delivery procedures, including routine and complicated deliveries
- Managing C-sections, breech deliveries, multiple births, and VBACs when indicated
- Performing gynecologic procedures such as diagnostic laparoscopic cases, ectopic pregnancy management, cystectomy, and extensive lysis of adhesions
- Providing newborn and postpartum support as needed, including circumcisions if able
