Facility:This opportunity is based within a well-established academic medical center operating on a hub and spoke model, covering four metro campus locations across the Omaha area. The facility provides comprehensive inpatient cardiology services with APP support on weekdays and utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical record system.
Opportunity:Physician - Cardiology
Job Details:- Locum Cardiology coverage across four hospital locations beginning October 2026 on an ongoing basis
- Daytime onsite coverage: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM providing General Cardiology services
- Night call coverage: 4:30 PM - 8:00 AM covering General Cardiology across all four campus locations (not every night)
- Hub and spoke call model with CUMC serving as the academic medical center hub
- Inpatient rounding with APP support on weekdays; no APP support on weekends or during call
- Required procedures include General Cardiology, ECHO, and TEE
- EMR: EPIC
- Average census of 5-8 patients per campus
- Night call volume is low; most calls involve consults typically seen the following day
- Possibility of some ambulatory visits in addition to inpatient responsibilities
- Board Certification in Cardiology required
- Active Nebraska and/or Iowa license or IMLC (Letter of Qualification in hand at time of submission) required
- Candidates must disclose specific available dates between October 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026 to be considered
- Candidates must acknowledge that night call coverage spans all four sites when on call
- Candidates must detail the number of shifts per month they can commit to on an ongoing basis
- Credentialing timeframe is approximately 90 days after completed application across all four metro campus locations
- Clean malpractice and background history required
Compensation:Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
