Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with acute illnesses and injuries
- Perform emergency procedures, including moderate sedation
- Manage a broad range of adult and pediatric emergency presentations
- Supervise and provide clinical backup for nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- Coordinate patient care with consulting services and hospital staff
- Complete timely and accurate medical documentation
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Completion of a three-year residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Active Mississippi medical license
- Active Mississippi DEA registration
- Minimum of 2,000 emergency department or acute care clinical hours within the past two years
- Current ACLS and ATLS certifications
- PALS certification required for physicians who are not Emergency Medicine trained or board certified
- Ability to perform moderate sedation
- Documentation of recent case logs and continuing medical education required
- Experience supervising advanced practice providers
