As Program Director, you'll guide a growing residency program, champion educational excellence, ensure continued accreditation success, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and physician development.

What You'll Do Lead a High-Performing Residency Program
  • Direct the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of all educational, clinical, and administrative components of the Family Medicine Residency Program.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all ACGME and Residency Review Committee (RRC) accreditation requirements.
  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for program growth, innovation, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with hospital and health system leadership to strengthen graduate medical education initiatives.
  • Serve as the program's ambassador at local, regional, and national levels.
Inspire and Develop Future Family Physicians
  • Teach, mentor, coach, and evaluate Family Medicine residents.
  • Serve as a clinical role model, fostering excellence in patient care, communication, professionalism, and reflective practice.
  • Lead educational seminars, conferences, and curriculum development initiatives.
  • Coordinate resident educational experiences across hospital, clinic, and community settings.
  • Support resident success through meaningful mentorship and professional guidance.
Deliver Outstanding Patient Care
  • Maintain an active clinical practice while precepting residents.
  • Provide direct patient care at Family Medicine practice locations (e.g. VHP Family Health Center, LVPG Southside, LVPG Hamburg, LVPG Schuylkill Medical Plaza)
  • Model evidence-based, patient-centered care that reflects the highest standards of Family Medicine.
Advance Academic Excellence
  • Participate in scholarly activities, including:
    • Clinical and educational research
    • Curriculum innovation
    • Quality improvement initiatives
    • Manuscript preparation and publication
    • Presentations at regional and national conferences
  • Contribute to the ongoing advancement of Family Medicine education and practice.
Foster a Collaborative Culture
  • Partner with faculty, hospital leadership, and the Graduate Medical Education Committee.
  • Support physician faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, and retention.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that reflects LVHN and LVPG values.
  • Serve as a trusted resource and educator within the department and broader health system.

Qualifications Required Education
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Graduate of an accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
Required Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional practice in Family Medicine
  • Prior teaching experience within a Family Medicine residency program
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and educational experience
Required Certifications & Licensure
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine
  • Eligible for or currently holding all required state licensure and credentialing
