Join an established cardiovascular team in Blacksburg, Virginia, providing Interventional Cardiology coverage for weekend STEMI and trauma call. This locums opportunity offers 24/7 inpatient call coverage with APP and nursing support while helping maintain Chest Pain Accreditation and trauma services.
Assignment Details
Coverage Dates:
- Friday, August 14, 2026, 5:00 PM - Monday, August 17, 2026, 7:00 AM
- Friday, August 28, 2026, 5:00 PM - Monday, August 31, 2026, 7:00 AM
Coverage Requirements:
- 24/7 call coverage
- Inpatient Interventional Cardiology
- Approximately 8 days of coverage per month
Schedule:
- Weekend call coverage
- Friday evening through Monday morning

Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Practice Setting:
Patient Volume:
- Approximately 15 patients
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 Interventional Cardiology call coverage
- Perform interventional cardiology procedures
- Provide STEMI coverage
- Evaluate and manage inpatient cardiology consults
- Respond to emergent cardiac cases
- Collaborate with trauma and emergency teams
- Work closely with nursing staff and Advanced Practice Providers
- Document patient care using EWC EMR
