Clinical Role

Join an established hospital in Shelby, North Carolina, providing inpatient Urology coverage during scheduled weekday call assignments. This locums opportunity offers in-house call responsibilities, manageable patient volumes, and the potential for ongoing coverage with a collaborative hospital team.

Assignment Details

Coverage Dates:

  • October 5 (7:00 AM) - October 9 (7:00 AM), 2026
  • November 2 (7:00 AM) - November 6 (7:00 AM), 2026
  • November 23 (7:00 AM) - November 27 (7:00 AM), 2026
  • December 21 (7:00 AM) - December 25 (7:00 AM), 2026
  • December 28 (7:00 AM), 2026 - January 1 (7:00 AM), 2027

Schedule:

  • Monday 7:00 AM - Friday 7:00 AM
  • Weekday coverage only

Practice Setting:

  • Inpatient only

Coverage Requirements:

  • Providers able to cover at least two assignment weeks preferred
  • Ongoing coverage opportunities available
  • Facility will accept multiple providers

Call Requirements

  • In-house call
  • Call ratio: 1:5
  • 30-minute response time required
  • Approximately 4 phone consults
  • Assigned and unassigned patients

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

  • Hospital
  • Inpatient

Facility Details:

  • Approximately 130 inpatient census
  • 36-bed Emergency Department
  • Hospital Stroke Certified

Patient Volume:

  • Approximately 7 patients per day

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient Urology consultations
  • Evaluate assigned and unassigned patients
  • Manage urologic emergencies and inpatient care
  • Respond to hospital consults
  • Collaborate with hospitalists and specialty teams
  • Document patient care using Epic

Support & Technology

EMR System:

  • Epic

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Urology required
  • Fellowship training required
  • Active North Carolina Medical License required
  • Candidates within driving distance preferred

Credentialing
