Shift Description Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Varied schedule with specific coverage dates provided
Requirements Board certified or board eligible
Active California state license
Residency completed
BLS
DEA
California fluoroscopy
Clean malpractice history - Highly Preferred
Required Procedures / Skills Lumbar punctures
Barium studies
Centesis exams with drains
CT- and ultrasound-guided biopsies
Thoracentesis
Paracentesis
Nephrostomy tube placement
Intra-abdominal abscess drainage
Chest tube placement
Suprapubic catheter placement
Biopsies (thyroid, lung, and other sites)
Assignment Details General acute care hospital setting (stroke certified; no trauma designation)
Coverage includes interventional radiology, stroke CTs, ED and ICU imaging
Potential outpatient coverage for contrasted CTs, MRIs, and breast biopsies
Supported by diagnostic imaging nurses and technologists
Support from a large radiology group for overflow and after-hours reads
ED volume: 85-90 patients per day
Average census: 50 patients
Expected workload: 50 studies/day and 4-6 procedures/day
Majority of IR procedures are non-complex and percutaneous
