DUTIES
Chief of Urology s dual role will provide comprehensive inpatient & outpatient urologic care to patients while from a leadership perspective, will contribute to program development and continuity of patient services.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient urologic care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of urologic conditions.
- Perform operative urologic procedures and manage preoperative, postoperative, and follow-up care in accordance with approved clinical privileges.
- Conduct admission histories and physicals, consultations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and aftercare plans with accurate and timely documentation.
- Participate in call coverage and provide urologic consult services as directed by the Chief of Surgery.
- Contribute to education and training activities, including teaching and supervision of trainees, and participate in research activities as applicable.
- Responsible for and accountable for ensuring the provision of comprehensive urologic services, the care and administrative needs of the urology surgery patient in both the inpatient and outpatient settings and complying with established policies within the Department of Surgery.
- Chief of Urology is responsible to the Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff for all clinical and administrative duties and assists in supervising.
- Attend required staff meetings, communicating up and down the chain of command & helping prepare heads-up and issue briefs related to adverse patient outcomes.

Salary up to 400,000 salary + regular raises

YOU
MD or DO Medical School Completion
Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited urology residency program leading to board eligibility
Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in North Carolina or any U.S. state or territory
Ability to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient urologic care to a complex patient population
Board certification or board eligibility in Urology
Prior experience working with medically complex patients, including those with multiple comorbidities and mental health conditions
Candidates who completed a non-US residency training program may be considered if practice 5 years in US
