Job Title: Locum Physician - Hematology Oncology
Summary: Join a dedicated team at a well-established medical group providing compassionate, high-quality care in Santa Cruz, California. This opportunity as a full-time Hematology/Oncology physician in the clinic will begin on September 29. You will work in a premier infusion center, co-located with the Hematology Care Center, featuring 15 private bays designed for optimal patient safety and comfort. The institution is seeking a candidate who may transition into a full-time role if a good fit is found.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert hematology and oncology care utilizing the Solari Infusion Center for modern treatment delivery.
- Collaborate with patient navigators and social workers to ensure a seamless patient journey from diagnosis through survivorship.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including tumor boards and daily rounds in a 17-bed oncology unit.
- Manage a patient load of 13-18 patients per day, delivering comprehensive care through access to various resources, including clinical trials and survivorship programs.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) via Cerner for documentation and patient tracking.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Medical Oncology (highly preferred) or Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology. Board Eligible candidates will also be considered.
- Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program in a relevant field.
- Current active license to practice medicine in California.
- Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
- Clean medical practice background.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (highly preferred). This can be processed during credentialing.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active California medical license (required).
- Active DEA certification (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (highly preferred).
