Opportunity:
Physician - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
- Provide emergency medicine coverage in a community emergency department with 22 beds (15 rooms and 7 hallway beds)
- Annual patient volume of just over 30,000 patients
- Coverage required for 11-15 shifts per month (11 on 30-day months and 15 on 31-day months)
- Shifts are 10 hours with variable shift times including: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM, and 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM
- Average of 23 patient encounters per shift
- Physician coverage ranges from single to triple coverage throughout the day
- Level 3 trauma center with 24/7 cardiac catheterization lab and tele-stroke physicians for stroke activations
- Most specialties are covered on site including anesthesia, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, radiology, and laboratory services
- Facility utilizes EPIC as the electronic medical records system
- Board certification through ABEM required (ABIM/ABFM not accepted)
- Active state license and active DEA required
- Newborn deliveries received in the ED with an on-site Labor & Delivery department
