Job description

  • Specialty:
    • Cardiothoracic surgery
  • Coverage Needs:
    • 10/8 - 10/12
    • Will have ongoing coverage needs
  • Shifts:
    • Call only
    • Surgical time scheduled in AM, office in PM
    • Rounding and oversight of post ops in ICU
  • Census:
    • Approx 2-5 pts admitted at a time
  • Setting:
    • Hospital
    • Call from hotel - Surgeon will take calls from Cath Lab/INPT/ER & complete CABG/AVR urgent procedures if needed. Cardiologist may call from Cath Lab asking to reviewing films
  • Support Staff:
    • Full support staff
  • Procedures:
    • Aneurysm, thoracic vascular
    • Chest wall debridement/rewiring sternum
    • CABG
    • Coronary atherosclerosis
    • Pericardial Surgery and catheter drainage
    • Sternotomy (re-do)
    • TAVR experience is Mandatory
  • EMR:
    • Epic
  • Board Certification:
    • BC required
  • Travel:
    • Hospital will cover
  • Credentialing timeline:
    • 30-60 days for full privileges
  • Requirements:
    • Active IN license, CSR, DEA
    • Clean Background
    • AHA issued BLS
