Burlingame, California - Locums Anesthesiology Float Pool OpportunityAvailability

• Assignment Type: Locums
• Contract Length: 26+ weeks
• Coverage Needed: Full-time preferred
• Minimum Availability: At least 2 weeks per month
• Schedule: Variable shifts (no fixed 8- or 10-hour shifts)
• Practice Setting: Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center Float Pool

License & Certification Requirements

Required:

• Board Certified Anesthesiology (Truly Board Eligible considered, especially with fellowship training)
• Active California Medical License
• Active California DEA (Schedule II)
• BLS (AHA)

Preferred:

• ACLS (AHA)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia coverage for both inpatient and outpatient surgical cases
• Float between hospital and ambulatory surgery center locations
• Primarily work independently in the operating room
• Occasionally supervise CRNAs
• General anesthesia cases with occasional regional anesthesia
• No cardiac, liver, or neurosurgical cases

Practice Details

• EMR: Epic
• Adult and adolescent patients (13+)
• Hospital OR coverage
• High-acuity patient population (ASA III+)
• Regional anesthesia experience strongly preferred but not required
• Trauma experience strongly preferred

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Anesthesiology experience
• Recent experience with a mix of inpatient and outpatient surgical cases
• Recent experience practicing solo is required
• Recent tertiary care/medical center experience required
• Candidates with predominantly chronic pain practice experience are not a fit

Additional Highlights

• Providers must be willing to float between multiple affiliated locations
• Must be comfortable covering both inpatient and outpatient procedures
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Level I Trauma experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with CRNAs is preferred but not required
