Emergency Department coverage as a Nurse Practitioner
VMS managed locum tenens assignment
Required Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
Graduate degree from an accredited nursing program
Active unrestricted Illinois NP license
Illinois controlled substance registration
DEA with Illinois address and schedules II, IIN, III, IIIN, IV, V
Board certification: ANCC or AANP or equivalent approved by Illinois board
Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS
Recent clinical activity within the past year. New graduates accepted with waiver.
Case logs for the past 24 months
Collaborative agreement with a physician in good standing
Credentialing and Onboarding
Estimated credentialing timeframe: 61 to 90 days
Immunization and screening requirements include influenza, Tdap, TB, Varicella, Hep B, and MMR
Respirator fit test
Required training includes emergency pediatrics annually, NIH Stroke Scale, workplace violence, sexual assault transfer and treatment, patient rights, opioid and chronic pain management, maternal hypertension, maternal hemorrhage, antibiotic stewardship attestation
