We have an immediate need for a Vascular Surgeon to provide outpatient medical services for our veteran population at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This role offers a flexible assignment with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while experiencing the rich natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains.
Must be Board Certified.
Credentialling and onboarding takes 4-6 weeks
Scope of Care: Physician shall be responsible for providing Vascular care, including, but not limited to: the vascular surgeon will provide services for patients from a wide range of ages, backgrounds and diagnoses; therefore, competence in the examination and treatment of patients will be demonstrated through performing evaluation, diagnosis, pre-operative, operative, and post-operative management in the following areas: Vascular system (excluding the intracranial vessels, the heart, and those vessels intrinsic and immediately adjacent thereto); endocrine system; surgical oncology (including coordinated multimodality management of the cancer patient by screening, surveillance, surgical adjunctive therapy, rehabilitation, and follow-up) management of trauma, following patients through the full continuum of care including admissions and discharges, assisting in the coordination of diagnostic tests prior to a surgical procedure, educating and counseling the patient and family members, give professional direction to nursing staff, and other tasks inherent to a vascular surgeon.
Hours & Schedule:
Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center s Urgent Care Center operates daily from Monday Friday, 8:00 am 4:30 pm
o Operating Room (OR) Team Hours: Monday Friday, 7:30 am 3:30 pm.
o OR Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 am 4:30 pm.
