Job description

United Digestive is seeking a dedicated Gastroenterologist with a strong interest in Hepatology to join our elite medical team in Midtown Atlanta. This unique position is custom-tailored for a physician who desires a perfect clinical balance between general gastroenterology and hepatology while building a highly rewarding, long-term career. This is a wonderful opportunity for physicians who completed a 1-year hepatology fellowship prior to GI fellowship.

This role places you on a direct Associate-to-Partner pathway with full equity opportunities. You will step into an immediate, high-volume environment where you can maximize your productivity bonuses from day one.

Position Overview & Workload

  • Clinical Balance: Enjoy a true 50/50 split between General GI and Hepatology.
  • Scope of Practice: Perform standard endoscopic procedures (scoping) alongside specialized clinical management of liver disease.
  • Patient Population: Manage robust outpatient volume at the Liver Center and provide inpatient services.
  • Transplant Disclaimer: You will not manage transplant patients; care is focused strictly on general GI and hepatology patients admitted to the hospital.

Schedule & Hospital Call Pool

  • Call Schedule: Initial rotation is every 4.5 to 5 weeks.
  • Future Work-Life Balance: The rotation will quickly improve to 1:6 / 1:6.5 as new associates are fully onboard.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: MD or DO from an accredited program.
  • Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
