Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatric Mental Health) - Sewell, NJ

Job Type: Full-Time (On-site)
Schedule: 40 hours per week

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join a growing behavioral health practice in Sewell, NJ. This role involves collaborating closely with supervising physicians, therapists, and a multidisciplinary healthcare team to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.

The practice offers a supportive clinical environment with administrative assistance, care coordination support, and streamlined workflows, allowing providers to focus on delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, and risk assessments

  • Diagnose and treat mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and schizophrenia

  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized psychiatric treatment plans

  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring effectiveness and side effects

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, counselors, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care

  • Provide supportive psychotherapy and patient counseling as appropriate

  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and coping strategies

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations

  • Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, confidentiality requirements, and behavioral health best practices

Qualifications:
  • Active Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) license in New Jersey

  • Board Certification as PMHNP required

  • DEA registration or eligibility for controlled substance prescribing

  • Minimum 2 years of psychiatric/behavioral health experience preferred

  • Experience with pain medicine or Orthopedics is a plus
