Job description

Seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner to develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases, perform comprehensive physical exams, and educate patients on disease prevention within a diverse patient populace. The role involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation and working closely with other medical personnel to achieve patient care objectives.

Responsibilities / Job Duties
  • Develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
  • Perform complete physical examinations, obtain thorough medical histories, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and treat both acute and chronic disorders, maintaining detailed case records.
  • Initiate drug therapy and recommend patient release from treatment when appropriate.
  • Educate patients on disease prevention, management, and healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Prepare reports and documentation required by the agency.
  • Provide in-service education for medical assistants and nursing staff.
  • Participate in Case Review Conferences, staff meetings, and professional development.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all client, employee, and management-related matters.
  • Assist in preserving organizational mission and participate in fundraising activities.
  • Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements Education
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse and a certificate to practice as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Prescriptive Privileges and active and current DEA.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience working in family medicine.
  • Baccalaureate or Master s Degree in Nursing with an emphasis in the Family Nurse Program can substitute for experience.
  • National Board certification from any recognized Credentialing Center pending or currently in process.
  • Experience working with multicultural, multiethnic populations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing.
  • Ability to work additional hours and handle special projects as needed.
  • Effectively deal with stress.
Experience
  • Experience in a Psychiatric environment is crucial for the role.
Skills
  • Spanish bilingual is a plus.
