Whether covering hospital call, clinic shifts, or both, you'll play a vital role in delivering quality care to patients in a supportive environment.

We are seeking a dedicated OB/GYN with strong clinical skills, adaptability, and a passion for patient-centered care. This position involves responsibilities including delivery of vaginal and cesarean births, management of obstetric emergencies such as ectopic pregnancies and ovarian torsion, and procedures like suction D&C. The role also involves participation in hospital call schedules with a favorable call ratio of 1 to 4, supporting a small but capable team in a facility equipped with nine L&D beds and twenty postpartum beds, utilizing the EPIC EMR system.

Required Skills:
  • Valid medical license in Virginia or eligible for licensure
  • Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Proven experience with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and obstetric emergencies
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with high-risk obstetrics
  • familiarity with EPIC EMR system
  • Additional procedures such as suction D&C, management of abnormal bleeding
  • Bilingual abilities or additional language skills

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • At least 2 years of practice experience in OB/GYN, preferably in hospital settings
  • Previous locum or temporary coverage experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Must be willing and able to cover scheduled dates including May 1-3, 6, 11, 14, 20, May clinics on 7th, 12th, 21st, 26th; June 1, 4, 15, 18, 22, 26-28; July 2, 4-5, 20, 24-26, 30
  • Credentialing process typically takes 60-90 days; temporary approvals considered if background and malpractice are clear
  • Open to local candidates; full travel reimbursement available if needed
  • Certifications such as BLS, ACLS preferred
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to varying schedules
