Find your calling at Mercy! Position Details: Our Cardiac Surgery Unit is a 24-private bed unit that cares for pre and post-operative cardiac surgery patients, cardiac dysrhythmias requiring IV drips, vascular surgery patients and general medical overflow. Our Nurses work on a support team of educators, PCA/PCT's, Case Managers, Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, PT/OT and Speech Therapists. You will earn credentials in ACLS and build strong clinical skills for our cardiac and vascular population.
Minimum Qualifications: - Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
Certification(s): NOTE: one or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
- LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri.
- Other unit-specific certifications as required.
Physical Requirements: - Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
