Join a Pediatric Gastroenterology program in Columbia, South Carolina, providing weekend consultative coverage for hospitalized pediatric patients. This locums opportunity offers recurring weekend call, consult-only responsibilities, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative pediatric hospital environment utilizing EPIC EMR.

Patient Volume:
- Approximately 8-12 patients per day
Patient Population:
- Approximately 33% Newborn
- Approximately 33% Pediatrics
- Approximately 33% Adolescents
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide Pediatric Gastroenterology consult services
- Evaluate and manage inpatient gastroenterology consultations
- Perform endoscopy when clinically indicated for urgent weekend cases
- Manage urgent gastrointestinal conditions, including gastrointestinal bleeding, when necessary
- Interpret X-rays (preferred)
- Provide recommendations to the primary medical team
- Document patient care using EPIC

- Consult service only
- Endoscopy performed only at this facility
- Weekend procedures performed at the provider's clinical discretion based on urgency

Requirements
- Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology or Gastroenterology required
- Active South Carolina Medical License required
- South Carolina Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) required
- DEA required
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- Minimum two years of experience required
- Current Flu, MMR, and Varicella immunizations required (waivers accepted)
- Facility is not willing to obtain South Carolina licensure
- IMLC not accepted
