Locums Orthopedic Surgery Opportunity - Hancock, MI (IMLC Accepted)Quick Facts

Availability
  • Call Only
  • 24-hour beeper call coverage (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM)
  • Call Ratio: On call only for the duration of each assignment
  • Onsite orientation required the day prior to the first assignment
    • Orientation: November 25, 2026
  • Coverage dates:
    • November 26-29 (ends November 30 at 7:00 AM)
    • December 18-23 (ends December 24 at 7:00 AM)
  • 20-minute beeper call response time
Licenses & Certifications Required
  • Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS required)
    • NBPAS certification is not accepted
  • Active Michigan Medical License or IMLC eligible
  • Active Michigan CDS
  • Active Michigan DEA
Practice Details
  • Emergency Department orthopedic call coverage on a rotating basis
  • Provider reports onsite only when requested for an ED consult
  • Total joint experience preferred, along with strong general orthopedic skills
  • Primarily bread-and-butter orthopedic cases
  • Complex and critically ill patients are transferred
  • Cases include:
    • Fractures
    • Sports injuries
    • General orthopedic procedures
  • No spine cases
  • Admissions required
  • Assigned and unassigned patient rounding
  • Orthopedic PA support and full surgical staff available
  • Flexible operating room scheduling with block time
  • Fully digital radiology department
  • EMR: Meditech
