We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Diagnostic Radiologist for a 6-month onsite locum tenens assignment with possible extension. This role offers a procedural-focused practice in a supportive community hospital with no call or weekend responsibilities.
Assignment details
- Length: 6 months (possible extension)
- Start: As soon as credentialed
- Schedule: Mon Fri, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Coverage: Onsite only
- Call: None; Weekends: None
Clinical responsibilities
Provide onsite interpretation and perform a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, including:
- Diagnostic mammography and breast biopsies
- Thyroid biopsies and breast wire localizations
- Sentinel node injections
- Arthrograms
- Upper GI studies, esophagrams, barium enemas
- Additional general diagnostic radiology procedures as needed
Workload and logistics
- Daily volume: exams
- Coverage frequency: 2 3 days per month (steady procedural pace during shifts)
- Systems: Meditech Expanse (EMR); Intelerad InteleConnect / InteleViewer (PACS)
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
- Active Iowa medical license or ability to obtain one
- Independent experience performing the listed diagnostic and procedural work
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
