Job description

We are seeking a Board Certified Anatomic & Clinical Pathologist for an ongoing locum opportunity in New Jersey. This hospital-based assignment offers a broad mix of surgical pathology and cytopathology in a collaborative laboratory environment with emergency privileges available.

Assignment Details
  • Start: ASAP
  • Ongoing coverage until a permanent provider is hired
  • Full-time schedule
  • Emergency privileges available
Schedule
  • Monday Friday
  • 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
  • Night and weekend call required
Practice Setting
  • Hospital laboratory
  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Epic EMR
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Surgical pathology sign-out
  • Cytopathology sign-out
  • Frozen section interpretation
  • Rapid Onsite Evaluation (ROSE) of cytology specimens
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced pathologists and laboratory staff
Case Volume
  • Approximately 9,000 surgical pathology cases annually ( cases/day)
  • Approximately 1,000 cytopathology cases annually (3 5 cases/day)
  • Approximately 400 FNA cases annually (2 3 cases/day)
Team Structure
  • Work alongside three full-time Pathologists
  • Dedicated laboratory support staff
Requirements
  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
  • Proficiency in:
    • Surgical Pathology
    • Frozen Sections
    • Cytopathology
    • Rapid Onsite Evaluation (ROSE)
Ideal Candidate

An experienced AP/CP Pathologist who is comfortable with a balanced mix of surgical pathology, cytopathology, frozen sections, and ROSE in a collaborative hospital laboratory setting.
