We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This high-acuity ICU position offers flexible day and night shift coverage, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative critical care environment utilizing Epic EMR.

Coverage Needed
Day Shifts (6:00 AM 6:00 PM)
• August: 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 22, 29, 30
• September: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27
Night Shifts (6:00 PM 6:00 AM)
• September 1 30
• Ongoing intermittent night and weekend coverage available
Minimum commitment: 5 7 shifts per month
Practice Setting
• Open ICU
• High-acuity patient population
• patients per shift
• No Call Required
• EPIC EMR
• Virtual ICU support integrated into the unit
Responsibilities
• Critical care management
• ICU consultations
• Arterial line placement
• Central line placement
• Code response
• Management of complex and critically ill patients
No intubations required during night shifts.
Support Structure
• Independent overnight practice
• Emergency Department resident support available Sunday Thursday nights (November June)
• Collaborative critical care team environment
Requirements
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Acute Care NP Certification required for Nurse Practitioners
• Active Pennsylvania License Required
• Active DEA
• ACLS & BLS Certifications
• Must meet Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance requirements
• Active license only (no license transfers accepted)
Orientation & Credentialing
• 4-hour EPIC training completed at least 48 hours before start
• Hospital Privileging Timeline: days
